The NRC Independent Living Housing Program provides safe, secure, structured shared housing for veterans, seniors (55+), and independent adults who need stable housing while maintaining independence.

WHO WE SERVE

Structured shared living for people who can live independently and want stability, routine, and accountability.

  • Veterans - Transitioning from homelessness, institutions, or unstable housing.

  • Seniors (55+) - Calm, affordable shared living with peer community.

  • Adult Men & Women - Gender-specific or mixed housing (based on availability).

  • Independent Adults - Affordable stability with clear expectations and supportive oversight.

Must have verifiable income, be capable of independent living, and agree to program guidelines.

About the Program

This program bridges the gap between homelessness and full independent housing. Many individuals don’t require intensive services - but do benefit from a stable, structured environment to thrive.

Residents manage their own daily life and finances while living in a home with clear standards and accountability.

How It Works

Step 1: Apply or Refer
Self-referrals and agency referrals are welcome.

Step 2: Verify Eligibility
Income verification + ability to live independently.

Step 3: Intake Interview
Review expectations and confirm fit.

Step 4: Placement
If approved and a bed is available.

Housing & Amenities

Our homes are designed to be safe, clean, and comfortable

Amenities list:

  • Furnished shared or private rooms (based on availability)

  • Fully equipped kitchens

  • Shared common areas

  • On-site or program oversight

  • Clean, drug- and alcohol-free environments

Homes are located in safe neighborhoods and monitored for compliance with program

Eligibility Requirements

Expectations keep the home stable, respectful, and safe for everyone.

  • Pay rent and fees on time

  • Maintain income

  • Respect housemates and property

  • Keep personal and shared spaces clean

  • Follow house rules (curfews if applicable)

  • Abstain from illegal drugs and alcohol on premises

  • Participate in scheduled check-ins
